In the following comment, which is taken from @290 of the Shii-Cho Game thread, Ms. LynM responds to concerns on the part of Buena Vista about infirmity and how this supposedly “kills the tingle” and so forth; let’s get to her comments in response to BV, and then I’ll give my take on the whole ball of wax:

I don’t think that’s the case either. At least for me, I enjoy taking care of people, especially those I love. I am a fierce and protective of those I care about when they need me. But that is my “mothering” mode. I’m just saying I can possibly see being in the “mothering” mode and the “lover” mode could be a conflict. It’s my possible explanation to Buena Vista’s statement that infirmary kills the “tingles”. Fortunately, I’ve never had a man I love be seriously ill. Maybe a part of our vestigial brains stops us from mating with people under our care….just conjecture.”
