But while not every man can dramatically improve his emotional intelligence and social skills, almost every man has the (theoretical at least) option of finding a worthwhile goal in life and working toward pursuing it (which brings us back to the common, but universal wisdom passed on from generations). Even if his emotional intelligence and social skills are just average, the fact that he has something apart from and larger than himself that he focuses on and pursues in life will make him a better, stronger, and more attractive man, including to women.
In some ways this is correct, but the man will be sub-optimal in what he reaps, socially, from this. Yes, it helps generate attention, but to be attractive to a more optimal mate, even a man who is successful at his passion needs solid social skills grounded in a well-developed emotional intelligence. So, sure, you can get some woman, probably, but it’s sub-optimal, and there really isn’t any reason to be sub-optimal in the most critical area of your life (in the sense that whom you “pick” here has the single most influential impact on your life trajectory and happiness, full stop). I don’t think it’s good advice for this area to be neglected in favor of developing one’s passion, unless you are fine with having sub-optimal performance in this area — which is not only odd, but also risky personally.
