BV, 886: Whoa, has it been ten years already? How depressing.
My opinion has changed as well. It’s probably the least red pill movie of all time. If and when any person has gathers up enough muster to say “I love you,” their romantic journey is over! Happily ever after to you, my laddie and lassie! And the idea that there could be any consequences or complications associated with, say, the prime minister of England shacking up with a domestic staffer, or recently cuckolded, divorced English writer marrying a Portuguese domestic with whom he has never shared a common language are of no concern. I’ve read a cynic describe it as the least romantic movie of all time, and the thinking part of me agrees.
But inside of me, a large part of me, is a dopey simpleton. And she still loves this type of thing and calls it “romantic”. Since I will never be able to construct the type of liquid prose that you do, or anything close…that’s my gimmick and I must hold onto her. ;-)

I’ve never seen the movie Arbitrage, but there seems to be some sort of mass agreement that if a man is 1)rich 2)married and 3)cheating, any and every evil that befalls him by his wife is massively deserved (and of course, she’s a blameless, snowflake of hidden….no, suppressed…suppressed by him!!! genius and talent).
